Description
The Gerber Prodigy is a robust, fixed knife made in the United States. Any knife enthusiast will immediately notice it: this knife is based on the incredibly popular Gerber LMF II, only smaller. This knife has also been designed for people who need to be able to rely on their knife. Whether you go out into the jungle, the desert, or simply into the woods around the corner: the Prodigy will definitely help you out.
The 420HC steel blade is very solid. However, at the same time it is not too big for simple tasks around the campsite. The matte black, ceramic coating prevents reflections and rust. The tang of the blade extends to the end of the handle. Here the steel slightly sticks out enabling you to use it to break something. Think, for instance, of collecting clams stuck to a rock in the water, a task you definitely don’t want to use your knife for.
The handle itself is made from FRN: glass reinforced nylon. Light-weight and very strong. For additional grip Gerber has added an extra rubber overmould around this core. An additional layer with a diamond pattern.
Striking about a knife in this price range is the very luxurious sheath that comes with the Prodigy. Whether you carry it around left-handed, right-handed, vertically or horizontally on your belt or attached to a MOLLE-vest: the Prodigy will feel at home wherever you put it.
