The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID represents the next stage in the evolution of this legendary mission boot. Its combination of agility, lightness and stability makes it ideal for use in military or police special units or by regular personnel. The MID-CUT upper provides the necessary support during fast roping and allows full freedom of movement during close combat. The upper is made from a combination of water-repellent, tear-resistant suede and abrasion-resistant, breathable CORDURA material. An innovative locking hook allows the lacing to be individually adjusted in the forefoot and ankle area. The waterproof, highly breathable GORE-TEX Extended Comfort footwear laminate is ideal for use in moderate or relatively wet environments. The dual-layer PU midsole with a MONOWRAP frame surrounds and supports the foot like an exoskeleton.
The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID is certified as occupational footwear in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012. It is anti-static and has a cold and heat-insulating sole complex. The outsole is not only anti-slip – it is also resistant to oil, petrol and contact heat.
Use your ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID for Fast-roping, Tactical Units and Event Security.
Descend Safely
Fast roping is a quicker technique than abseiling. Fast roping involves mission forces sliding down a rope from helicopters without using descenders. The method enables mission forces to land on ships and to be introduced to hard-to-reach terrain or developed areas. Because of the friction produced by rope sliding, the medial side of the boot must be equipped with heat protection. Similar to footwear worn during parachuting, the boots must have such special features as closed lace-up hooks and good heel cushioning to lessen the impact of landing.
Protected medial side of the boot
The protected medial side of the boot prevents premature wear and tear caused by sliding on a rope.
Closed hooks
The closed hooks prevent the footwear from getting caught in the rope during descent.
Good heel cushioning
The good heel cushioning lessens the force of the impact with the ground.

The membrane provides reliable waterproof protection. No matter what sort of activity you may be planning, you can count on GORE-TEX technology to keep your feet pleasantly dry.
- High breathability
Designed with optimal breathability in mind, GORE-TEX shoes are a pleasure to wear even during intense activities and warm weather. Water cannot penetrate the footwear, and moisture produced inside the shoe escapes through billions of pores in the GORE-TEX membrane.
.
- Windproof
The GORE-TEX membrane dependably fights off the wind and the weather. As a result, you can head off on a tour no matter what the weather is like.
Two Zone Lacing
The shoes fit correctly as a result
Thanks to the two-zone lacing system used in the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the shoe can be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways for ascents and descents.
Double Injection
Upper and sole become a fixed unit
To provide effective cushioning and improved comfort, the sole of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID is bonded to the upper in a technically demanding injection process. The upper boot is placed into a specially designed mould. Various layers of PU foam padding are then poured into it. In the process, the sole and upper are bonded together.
- Lightweight
This process uses a plastic called polyurethane. It is a very lightweight foam padding.
- Cushioning
The plastic called polyurethane is a foam padding that has very good cushioning properties. The plastic retains its form and springs back to its original condition even when its millions of tiny bubbles are frequently pressed together. This, in turn, creates a good rebound effect.
- A wide range of design options
Thanks to direct injection, the sole can be designed in a very large number of ways. The multifaceted properties of the materials used enable the shoes to be effective in a broad number of areas.
Stability Frame
Comfortably framed
With the LOWA MONOWRAP frame, the midsole of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID provides the very best comfort. This three-dimensional midsole design was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and support it when the shoe wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. The sole design is slightly raised for shoes with a STABILITY FRAME.
- Good guidance for the foot
The foot is optimally nestled into the shoe thanks to the frame’s three-dimensional design.
- Increased comfort
The special midsole design ensures snug footing in the shoe. The foot is pleasantly cradled by the three-dimensional frame.
- Lightweight
The LOWA-MONOWRAP is made of a plastic called polyurethane. It is a very lightweight material.
Closed Hooks
Hold without a snag
The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX MID is equipped with lacing hooks with a closed design. They guide the laces very securely and keep them from getting caught upon contact with objects.
